Preorders for the new Powerbeats Pro earbuds will kick off on May 3 before they officially launch on May 10, as multiple reports from The Verge, 9to5Mac, and other outlets indicate.

Early this month, Apple announced their Beats Powerbeats Pro truly wireless headphones.

At first, it'll be available in black.

Xhakomo's concepts show how the redesigned AirPods could use a design similar to the second-generation Apple Pencil, with a magnetic flat surface allowing the earbuds to attach to a compatible device (which at this stage would only be the Face ID-equipped iPad Pro) and wirelessly charge without the need of a charging case. Other color options (Ivory, Moss and Navy) will be available this summer. It's the successor to the Powerbeats3 Wireless, coming in with audio and performance upgrades. Here's how they compare to Apple's new AirPods. The completely wireless headphones wrap around your ear for a better fit and include various tips to ensure the best fit for your ear. As well as rubber ear tips meant to better fit the wearer's ear canal, they also use background noise cancelation.

The battery life of the Powerbeats Pro is expected to be around 9 hours, up from the 5 hours offered by the AirPods. And charging is fast: Just five minutes of charging will give you 1.5 hours of listening time. Pricing is another deciding factor. But unlike the AirPods, wireless charging isn't in their genes.
