Realme X has been made available in three RAM/internal storage variants - 4GB RAM/64GB storage, 6GB RAM/64GB storage and 8GB RAM/128GB storage priced at Yuan 1,499 (approximately Rs 15,000), Yuan 1,599 (approximately Rs 16,000) and Yuan 1,799 (approximately Rs 18,000), respectively.

On the imaging front, the Realme X will pack a dual camera setup on the back, which houses a 48-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.7 lens and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with an f/2.4 lens. It features a notch-less 6.53-inch AMOLED display which occupies 91.2% of the surface area on the front and appears to be curved along the edges. The display is shielded by a layer of Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor paired with an Adreno 616 GPU. It is available in 2GB / 3GB RAM and 16GB / 32GB internal storage option. There is also a MicroSD card slot for further expanding the storage on this device.

The in-display fingerprint scanner is an optical one (instead of an ultrasonic) and lights up the part of the screen overlapping the sensor to capture a fingerprint and unlock.

Connectivity options the device include Dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, micro USB 2.0, and 3.5mm audio jack.
