A Texas police officer fatally shot a woman who police said grabbed his Taser and used it against him, moments after she seemed to say "I'm pregnant" in an altercation captured on video. Local media reports indicate that the unidentified officer, who is an 11-year veteran with the force, initially approached 44-year-old Pamela Turner because he knew multiple warrants had been issued for her arrest for prior alleged offenses.

Baytown Police Lieutenant Steve Dorris said there was a struggle between the pair and the officer had been forced to use his Taser.

"You're actually harassing me", Turner says after she managed to break free from the officer's grip.

Police claimed the woman snatched the officer's taser, which he had earlier used on her, and shot it towards his groin during the scuffle.

Dorris has said that in addition to this bystander video, there is likely also video from the officer's bodycam.

According to a database of fatal police shootings created by the Washington Post, at least 323 people in the United States have been shot and killed by police so far in 2019. The officer tased the woman at least once to subdue her.

Meanwhile, a video of the shooting posted on Snapchat shows the woman screaming to the officer that she was being harassed and that she was also pregnant. "I'm actually walking to my house!"

"It's unfortunate that somebody take a tragic incident like this and start posting it on social media", he said. Turner, who is lying on the ground outside the apartments in Baytown, yells "I'm pregnant".

Ms Turner's sister Antoinette said the woman has two children in their 20s and three grandchildren.

At this time, the officer who shot Turner has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation into the shooting.

The officer nor the woman have been publicly identified. "Our hearts go out to the families of the deceased, as well as our officer".

Investigators are trying to contact whoever recorded the video as they were a witness to the shooting.

They have not confirmed whether she was pregnant. The Harris County District Attorney's Office is assisting in the investigation.

Raquelle Cuellar, a resident in the apartment complex, told ABC 13 that the woman was often spotted walking her dog in the area.

"That's extremely disrespectful for everybody involved".
