The company might reveal more details about the first ever flagship Redmi smartphone during the Redmi Note 7S launch. Scheduled to launch on May 20 in India, the new smartphone will be a budget series device. The company has already confirmed that they are bringing a Snapdragon 730 device to India.

Xiaomi is looking to ride on the success of its Note 7 series with a new smartphone, Redmi Note 7S. He mentioned that the phone will feature a 48MP camera, which will be unveiled in the country on May 20, 2019.

It sent the phone to a height of more than 35 km where Redmi Note 7 withstood the temperatures of -58 degree centigrade, took some pictures and came back to the surface in working condition. Looks like Xiaomi did the same with the soon to be launched Redmi Note 7S.

Xiaomi is yet to name the sensor. Redmi Note 7 Pro also features USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and IR Blaster. Similar to the Redmi Note 7 Pro, the Redmi Note 7S is also likely to come with a dual rear camera setup, however the exact Redmi Note 7S specifications are a mystery at this point. The Redmi Note 7 Pro gets a faster Snapdragon 675 SoC with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB internal storage. Now, to further increase the curiosity of fans and enthusiasts, the same manager shared on his Weibo page, the most popular Chinese social platform, a screenshot showing the score obtained by Redmi K20 on AnTuTu Benchmark. The Redmi Note 7 Pro swaps that 12-megapixel camera for a higher resolution 48-megapixel camera, and uses a 5-megapixel camera for depth sensing. The Redmi Note 7 smartphone in India comes with a 12MP primary shooter.

And Xiaomi India has been repeatedly emphasizing on the 48MP lens.

So, Redmi Note 7S in India could just be the Chinese Redmi Note 7 donning the Samsung 48MP GM1 sensor instead of the Sony 48MP IMX 586 sensor as the Note 7 Pro.
