"The defendant informed the government of multiple instances, both before and after his guilty plea, where either he or his attorneys received communications from persons connected to the administration or Congress that could've affected both his willingness to cooperate and the completeness of that cooperation", the court papers say. 'He has pled guilty to those lies.

"It wouldn't surprise me if you've gone on to make a deal with ... the government". For his cooperation in the special counsel's investigation, Mueller requested that Flynn not receive any jail time.

The chart was created by matching up the dates in the Mueller Report with publicly searchable information on which lawyers were representing Trump on what matters, and when.

"That sequence of events could have had the potential to affect Flynn's decision to cooperate, as well as the extent of that cooperation. Because of privilege issues, however, we could not determine whether the President was personally involved in or knew about the specific message his counsel delivered to Flynn's counsel", Mueller wrote in his report.

New documents released from the Mueller report this week reveal former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn was under investigation by the Department of Justice earlier than previously reported.

A description of another topic of Flynn's cooperation is still blacked out in the court record.

Flynn is awaiting sentencing after he pleaded guilty to lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation about his conversations with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak before Trump took office. Flynn has not yet been sentenced, partly because the lobbying case in Virginia is still ongoing, and he may testify at that trial.

Democrats have asked Barr to turn over an unredacted version of Mueller's report, as well as the report's underlying evidence, to conduct an obstruction of justice investigation into the president.

"Attorney General Barr's regrettably partisan handling of the Mueller report, including his slanted March 24th summary letter, his irresponsible testimony before Congress last week, and his indefensible plan to spin the report in a press conference later this morning - hours before he allows the public or Congress to see it - have resulted in a crisis of confidence in his independence and impartiality", said a joint statement from the Democratic leadership. During her first in-person meeting with White House counsel Don McGahn, Yates told Trump's top legal adviser that Flynn was under investigation. For example, prosecutors wrote in the newly unsealed documents that Flynn "recalled conversations with senior campaign officials after the release of the then-Hillary Clinton presidential campaign manager John Podesta's emails, during which the prospect of reaching out to WikiLeaks was discussed". The information includes details on Flynn's communications with Russians and exposes efforts by those close the president to thwart the investigation.

The revelations appeared in an addendum to Flynn's sentencing memo with fewer redactions, filed Thursday.
