"I'm devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can".

The 75-year-old Rolling Stones front man was forced to postpone the band's tour to have a heart valve replaced in NY around a month and a half ago.

"He's 75 years old, what is this devilry?" one Twitter user wrote.

His first concert since surgery for the band's "No Filter" tour is scheduled for June 21 in Chicago.

The tour launches June 21 in Chicago and hits the tristate area August 1 with a two-night stand at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. The group will then make their way to Ontario.

Burl's Creek is Canada's largest outdoor venue, and the concert is expected to draw close to 70,000 people.

The British rockers also added a July 14 date in New Orleans. The Miami show now wraps up the tour on August 31.

Announcing the new dates, the Stones said they "can't wait to get back out on the road again". "All of the cities from the previously postponed shows are locked in", said an official statement on the Stones' website.

Organizers have advised ticket holders that their existing tickets are valid for the original dates.

Tickets sold for the original No Filter dates will be honoured, but those who can't attend can get refunds by accessing their Ticketmaster accounts.
