Trump claims his polling is the 'best' despite internal polls showing otherwise

Trump, Biden trade insults on campaign trail

"You know, I'm actually a very honest guy".

After Stephanopoulos appeared to break news to Trump that he was reportedly behind in 15 out of 17 state polls, Trump pushed back and asked GMA cameras to be turned off so that he could make an off-the-record call to Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale from the back of presidential limo known as "the beast".

Trump said his internal poll numbers were "unbelievable" and that he was "the strongest I've ever been". Biden later said he didn't mean Trump was literally an existential threat, he just liked the way it sounded when he used big words like literally and existential until he found out what literally and existential literally mean then it just sounded virtually stupid.

"I'd rather run against Biden than anybody", Trump told reporters on the White House lawn.

"I've been struggling with the problems that Hyde now presents", Biden said Thursday at a Democratic fundraiser in Atlanta.

Biden is campaigning again in Iowa on Wednesday, this time without Trump in the state.

Biden went on to declare, "President Trump has committed gross abuses of power like using the IRS to silence political opponents, making laws through executive action, and unleashing federal agencies to spy on opposition candidates, or maybe that was Obama but anyway it was one of those presidents and it's got to stop". He thinks that being tough is great, well it's really easy to be tough when someone else absorbs the pain: "farmers, manufacturers, the automobile industry", Biden said.

Biden added that Trump "backed off his threat of tariffs to Mexico basically because he realized he was likely to lose" in manufacturing states such as MI and Ohio.

"People don't respect him", Trump said of Biden after touring a renewable energy facility in Council Bluffs.

Today, Trump characterised the New York Times story as "fake news" during his Oval Office meeting.

Later Tuesday, Trump was addressing an Iowa GOP dinner in Des Moines.

The veteran Democrat has attacked Trump for his tariff policy and its impact on Iowa farmers.

Trump also is likely to try to sell farmers on the U.S. -Mexico-Canada trade deal, which remains to be ratified by lawmakers in each country.

Though the presidential candidate recently stepped down from overseeing the organization upon announcing his 2020 presidential campaign. Trump predicted in Council Bluffs that the US would soon be increasing its corn exports to its southern neighbor: "Mexico's going to be doing a lot of buying".
