According to ABC7 in Chicago, a family spokesperson said the child died Friday from complications of a severe brain injury.

A baby cut from his mother's womb during a brutal attack in Chicago has died after two months on life support, a family spokeswoman has said. She didn't know whether Yovani Lopez, Ochoa-Lopez's husband, was with his son at the time of death, though she noted he regularly spent the night at the hospital.

Police say Ochoa-Lopez was lured to a woman's home by an offer of free baby clothes.

A baby has died after he was cut out of the body of a Chicago teenager weeks earlier, WGN reports.

The baby of slain Chicago teen Marlen Ochoa-Lopez has passed away after weeks of being on life support. He was in intensive care with severe brain damage since arriving to the hospital. Around the time the photo was taken, the baby opened his eyes. Clarisa Figueroa's partner, Piotr Bobak, 40, was charged with concealment of a homicide.

Prosecutors said Clarisa Figueroa, 46, claimed she had given birth to the baby when she took him to a hospital on April 23.

Clarisa and Desiree Figueroa have both been charged with murder.

"I would like to offer my honest condolences and prayers to Marlen's family, who instead of celebrating the arrival of a new life into their family, are now mourning Marlen's loss, while at the same time caring for a new little baby that's in grave condition".

All three suspects are expected back in court this month.

Figueroa's 20-year-old son, Xander, had died in 2018, according to prosecutors.

When she was dead, the elder Figueroa cut the teen's baby from her womb.

Clarisa Figueroa was arrested along with her daughter, Desiree Figueroa, and her boyfriend, Piotr Bobak.

Then on April 1, Figueroa told her daughter that "she needed help killing a pregnant woman and taking a baby", Murphy said. The teen returned on April 23 to accept Clarisa Figueroa's offer of free baby clothes, and as Desiree Figueroa was showing Ochoa-Lopez a photo album of her late brother to distract her, Clarisa Figueroa sneaked up behind her and strangled her with a cord. Her body was found in the garbage can in the backyard of the home.

"Words really can not express how disgusting and thoroughly disturbing these allegations are", Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said last month.
