Real estate maven Barbara Corcoran said Thursday she does not believe her brother's death in the Dominican Republic, has any connection to a recent spate of mysterious tourist deaths.

Johnathan "was retired but owned a successful roofing company in New Jersey", Corcoran told the outlet.

Corcoran told TMZ that Jonathan was in the Dominican Republic "with a friend in April on his yearly vacation when he died of a heart attack".

The businesswoman described the 60-year-old as her "favorite brother" among her 9 siblings, noting that he had a telegenetic personality and would have been great on TV.

A representative for Barbara later confirmed John's death to NBC News. John's friend, who was staying in the same hotel suite, reportedly discovered the body.

John Corcoran's death has made headlines amid news that world health officials are investigating numerous hotels in the Dominican Republic after the deaths of several American tourists during stays in the country.

While the country's tourism minister, Francisco Javier García, told the New York Times that the deaths are "isolated incidents" and insisted that the island was safe for tourists, the families of the victims have said their loved ones were healthy and showed so signs of sickness or did not suffer from heart conditions before their deaths. Some of the deceased who were said to have died of heart attacks had not displayed symptoms or had a heart condition, according to their families. However, the cause of the death of the sixth tourist remains unknown. The circumstances resemble the deaths of six other US tourists in the resort destination, according to TMZ.

"John Corcoran passed away at the end of April in the DR from what is believed to be natural causes", Burke said in a statement to Fox News.

Meanwhile, the couple from Maryland was said to have had respiratory failure and pulmonary edema.

The FBI is doing toxicology analysis, NPR says. Her husband said that his wife, 41, collapsed after having the minibar drink at the Luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville. And there is no evidence that Corcoran's death is related to the six others who have passed away at D.R. luxury resorts since June 2018.

Four were found dead at Bahia Principe resorts and two at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana, TMZ reported.
