Doris Burke reported he's out for the game.

After making it about halfway to the locker room, Thompson turned around and headed back to the floor to take his free throws.

Warriors guard Klay Thompson was the latest Golden State player to go down with a serious injury as he tore his ACL with 2:22 left in the third quarter.

Thompson left the game in the midst of another great performance in the Finals.

Thompson was helped off the court, then returned briefly to shoot a pair of free throws before limping back off.

Thompson nailed both of those free throws and was subsequently sent to the locker room for further examination.

It stands to reason that the Warriors may have been on the cautious side with Thompson after what happened to Kevin Durant this series but, nonetheless, Thompson did end up leaving the arena on crutches. The Warriors have a long road ahead of them as they head into next season.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com reports Thompson's rehab for the injury could go into February or March.

The injury news on Klay Thompson could not be worse.
