The England U17 global came on as a substitute during Fulham's 1-0 defeat to Wolves in May and in doing so became the youngest ever Premier League player at the age of 16 years and 30 days.

Elliott is now the youngest player ever to have played in the English Premier League, EPL.

The Craven Cottage side want to count on Elliott in the future.

Liverpool are expected to sign Fulham starlet Harvey Elliott and want to throw him straight into their first-team plans, according to the Liverpool Echo.

The Reds look set to land the highly rated 16-year-old this summer after his youth contract with Fulham expired, fending off the likes of Barcelona and Real Madrid in the race for his signature.

The England under-17 global will become the Reds' second addition of the summer and another signed with an eye on the future after Dutch centre-back Sepp van den Berg joined from PEC Zwolle.

Jurgen Klopp doesn't need to take that gamble yet - such is the quality of his squad - but if Elliott were to impress in pre-season, there's no reason why he wouldn't get first team opportunities.

He continued: "He's a great dribbler, he's very sharp and he's got good feet".

He came on as a substitute against Wolverhampton Wanderers in May aged just 16 years and 30 days.

"He could play in one of those front three roles, that's probably where we'd see him get his go."We'll probably see him in a cup competition this season".
