The royals are expected to return to the tennis tournament together to watch the women's final.

The Duchess of Sussex arrived around an hour after Kate Middleton, who met with the players first.

Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle are set to make a joint appearance at Wimbledon after attending together previous year as well. Meghan dressed for the occasion in a Ralph Lauren collection shirt and high-waisted cream pants, while accessorising the look with an Altuzarra bag, while Kate wore a classic white dress by Jenny Peckham and carried a small Dolce and Gabbana handbag.

Kate waved to a cheering crowd calling out her name as she entered the Centre Court building.

She paired the dress with a Dolce and Gabanna Sicily bag and Asprey's woodland oak leaf earrings.

"The Duchess of Cambridge, Patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, and The Duchess of Sussex will attend the Ladies' Singles Final at The Championships, Wimbledon on Saturday 13th July", read the tweet.

It's the second time the Duchess of Cambridge has worn this particular dress, the first was for a visit to Canada in 2016. It's assumed that she arrived solo to meet the players ahead of the game.

The news comes days after Meghan was given an unflattering new nickname after she instructed her royal security personnel to inform spectators at Wimbledon not to take photos of her. Social media users have described the pattern as a "surprise delight" on Twitter.

The two duchesses are sat next to each other in the Royal Box as they watch Serena Williams take on Simona Halep. Last week, Meghan Markle had made a surprise trip to the courts, where 23-time grand slam victor Serena was playing against Kaja Juvan.

When asked whether she hoped the royal would ignore the haters and continue to attend her matches, Serena said she "didn't know there was negative media out there".
