SOCCEROOS midfielder Aaron Mooy has moved to English Premier League club Brighton from Huddersfield on a season-long loan.

They doubled their lead 20 minutes into the second half when substitute Andone tucked in past goalkeeper Ben Foster after a neat cross from the right by midfielder Davy Propper.

Brighton defender Lewis Dunk then produced a fine through-ball from distance that Frenchman Maupay ran on to and converted from a hard angle with his left foot to seal the victory with 13 minutes left.

Graham Potter and his boys beat Watford 3-0 in a win which will nearly certainly have Brighton supporters daydreaming that their new boss is the British Pep Guardiola.

"We have a new manager and he has got his vision of football", Maupay said.

Playing with five at the back for much of the game, Brighton often had Watford at sixes and sevens.

Watford saw their challenge for a 7th place finish in last season's Premier League fall by the wayside towards the end of last term.

"I didn't expect that... it was an unbelievable match". It is the first game so we have a lot of time to improve.

Watford manager has bolstered his defensive unit with the signing of former West Brom defender, Craig Dawson, while adding former Arsenal forward, Welbeck to his front line.

Javi Gracia insists there are "no excuses" for Watford after their 3-0 defeat to Brighton.

"I've come up here and seen how the club is run, the direction they are going in and the players they've got, and that is what got me excited".

Hornets boss Gracia said: "We need to improve".

Watford will go for it here in their first home match of the season and will sense that Brighton could be here for the taking as they adjust to Potter's new regime. "There were many individual mistakes".
