Fortnite World Champion Kyle Giersdorf Was Unfortunately Swatted Over The Weekend During A Stream

One of these players is Kyle "Bugha" Gierdorf, the recently crowned Fortnite World Cup champion.

16-year-old Kyle "Bugha" Giersdorf would be riding a huge high right now after won a huge $3 million by winning the Fortnite World Cup, and last night had his home "swatted".

Pennsylvania police told ESPN that the Upper Pottsgrove Township Police Department received a call from someone pretending to be Giersdorf, claiming that he had killed his father and tied up his mother.

'That's scary. What if I just got popped?'

If you're not aware of the term, "swatting" is the term for the rather vicious and unsafe act of actually calling the police on a streamer while they're playing a game live - usually with some terrifying made-up accusation that causes the cops to turn up in force and highly armed.

Giersdorf returned to the stream, telling friends, "They came in with guns, bro".

Burga adds that he was lucky, as apparently one of the officers on call for the incident lived in his local neighbourhood and recognised him.

Caught up in Fortnite's frantic pace, Miller and Walsh didn't register what Gierdorf had said, leaving them to wonder why he appeared to have abandoned them in the middle of a game.

Giersdorf replied, "I got swatted?" before abruptly disappearing from his webcam. "That's scary. The internet's f-- insane".

After Bizzle clutched up and won the game, he and Dubs were trying to figure out what happened to Bugha. Barriss called Wichita police from Los Angeles on December 28, 2017, to falsely report a shooting and kidnapping at that Wichita address. When police called, Giersdorf's father answered the phone, then came out the front door.

After a row over Call of Duty in December 2017, Tyler Barriss told the police that he was holding his family hostage, and gave them an address in Kansas.
