Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth put on a rare display of PDA as they headed out in NYC for a Date night.

Liam took to Instagram to have his say on the split, asking for privacy and wishing his ex 'nothing but health and happiness going forward'.

Liam Hemsworth isn't ready to talk about his split with Miley Cyrus.

The Daily Mail Australia attributed a quote to Liam saying "You don't understand what it's like", while the actor was out with his brother, Chris Hemsworth on Monday.

"This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets", Hemsworth continued.

The Nothing Breaks Like a Heart singer, 26, was with her close girlfriends at celebrity hotspot the Blind Dragon in West Hollywood, as Hemsworth, 29, jetted to Australia late last month. Their pets won't suffer their time apart, they will both be their parents.

"Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what's best while they focus on themselves and careers".

Now, Liam Hemsworth has himself confirmed his separation with Miley Cyrus.

Cyrus' return to the studio comes after the star spent a little vacation time with Kaitlynn Carter in Italy. They met on the set of 2010 drama The Last Song.

They initially called off their engagement and split in 2013, but reconciled in 2015 before getting engaged again and eventually married in December 2018 following the loss of their Malibu home in the Woolsey fire that tore through the area earlier that year.

Breakup rumors about the ex-couple started swirling just this July, but we thought Miley had dispelled the rumors when she shared a loving message to Liam on Instagram for their anniversary.
