Croatian winger Ivan Perisic has completed a medical today ahead of his initial loan move to Bayern Munich.

"Ivan will help us immediately with his long-term experience at the worldwide top level".

The deal includes an option for the German champions to buy the 30-year-old at the end of it.

Perisic, 30, is widely considered to be Bayern's back-up option after their bid to sign Leroy Sane was derailed by the Manchester City winger's recent knee injury.

The Croatia global underwent medical tests on Monday morning in Munich with Bayern, who are desperately seeking reinforcement in the wide areas.

Perisic has previously played for Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg, who he left in 2015 to join Inter, in the Bundesliga.

He's also had a successful global career with Croatia, reaching the World Cup final past year in Russian Federation.

He has agitatedly acknowledged Bayern's interest in Sane but has become to sound like a broken record regarding the club's stance.

At Bayern, he will provide much-needed reinforcement on the wing following the departure of veteran club icons Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery at the end of last season.

Perisic put pen to paper on his new contract last night after completing a medical earlier on Monday.

Bayern launch their Bundesliga season at home to Hertha Berlin on Friday.
