A BMW sinks into water at a river in Yamunanagar in India’s north. A man was gifted it as a birthday present but allegedly sank it because he wanted a Jaguar

According to the report, an Indian man named Akash was so upset upon being gifted a BMW 3 Series two months ago that he deliberately moved the luxury vehicle into the Western Yamuna Canal.

A young driver from India allegedly pushed the BMW he got from his parents into a river.

However, after giving it a second thought, and perhaps realizing what a jerk he was, the man dove in with others to help rescue the auto.

Footage shared online in India shows the BMW slowly sinking beneath the surface of a river but despite the youth's best efforts to destroy the vehicle, it apparently re-surfaced after flowing into a small island on the river.

Police confirmed to local media that the owner, named only as Akash, had filmed himself pushing the auto into the river, reported the Deccan Herald.

"Akash was unhappy with his father for not buying him (a) Jaguar".

According to local media, the man's father is a wealthy landlord and the 22-year-old son already owned several SUVs. Police also said the parents claim the man has an undisclosed mental issue.

In India, a BMW costs roughly $50,000 while a Jaguar can cost around $70,000.

"We could only afford to give him a BMW, while he kept on insisting that he be given a Jaguar", he said. The auto was driven to the edge of the bank, and then pushed the rest of the way.

"He said the vehicle was too small but we thought he will be okay".
