Next year you can rise and shine and welcome the day at Wendy's restaurants.

However, this isn't the first time the food chain has attempted to roll out a breakfast menu.

"Wendy's products and menu are well regarded and its bacon strength is a product line that resonates at breakfast", Levy said in a note.

McDonald's has long served many breakfast items in its stores nationwide. The menu didn't expand nationwide after an initial test because of tough competition, according to food industry blog BrandEating.

This year, McDonald's added donut sticks to its morning menu, hoping to bring in even more breakfast customers.

The fast food chain delighted fans in August when it announced the return of its spicy chicken nuggets via Twitter. Dunkin' has tried out breakfast bowls and sandwiches, and is testing a breakfast sandwich featuring a plant-based sausage in its New York City stores.
