Meghan Markle Returns To Work To Launch New Charity Fashion Range

Since then - having partnered with leading British fashion designers @InsideJigsaw, @JohnLewisandPartners, @MarksandSpencer and @MishaNonoo - The Duchess has championed the launch of a new Smart Works capsule collection that will help properly equip these women for their next chapter. Meghan's collection features a shirt, trousers, blazer, dress and tote bag - and for every item bought during the sale, one will be donated to Smart Works.

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, has made a handful of public appearances since son Archie was born in May but the launch of the fashion collection, created in collaboration with well-known British stores and fashion designers, marks her first official engagement. It starts with Meghan exiting an elevator (just like in the movie 9 to 5!), dressed in the white button-down shirt and pants from the Smart Set, then heading outside to meet with women who have been helped by the charity.

The duchess is a patron of Smart Works, a charity that provides interview coaching and appropriate outfits for women in need.

When it comes to working together, Nonoo said that the duchess is a great collaborator: "I think, really being the person that she is, for each brand that she's working with, she's really entrusted us". Markle has a special relationship with Nonoo's popular "Husband" shirt: it was the top she wore on her first official, photographed outing with Prince Harry back in 2017. Everyone needs to know how awesome she is.

The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle had a fitting tribute to Princess Diana as she returned to work this week. Meghan said, "nce moving to the United Kingdom, it has been deeply important to me to meet with communities and organisations on the ground doing meaningful work and to try to do whatever I can to help them amplify their impact".

"In convening several companies rather than one, we've demonstrated how we can work collectively to empower each other - another layer to this communal success story, that I am so proud to be a part of".

"She asked me right from the start to do the white shirt, as that's kind of our signature", Nonoo explained, "and I said I'd be delighted to". It's been a lot of work but she's always been so hard working.

"I think it's really key in this day and age that we remember it's not just about the people you know you're supporting, it's about the people you don't know - that you may never know, may never meet", she said.
