Electors can also check the back of their voter identification cards for the location of their assigned polling station.

The initiative allowed anyone to vote via special ballot at improvised election "offices" over five days.

This election will be the first where all Canadians residing overseas will be eligible to vote, regardless of how long they have been away. With six federal parties offering a variety of opinions and positions this, Canadians will have a tough decision to make when they head out to vote in the election.

Advance polling stations will open at 9 a.m. through 9 p.m.

Advance polls must be done at the poll located on your voter information card.

Advance polling will run until Monday, October 14th.

If you have no ID, you can have someone declare your address in writing and must bring someone who is assigned to your voting station to vouch for your identity. No word yet about their popularity, but they're created to make voting "easier and more accessible" for students, university employees and the general population, according to Elections Canada spokesperson Pierre Pilon. That's the deadline to register to vote by mail. That includes either government-issued ID (such as a driver's licence) with both name and address or identification from the list of accepted ID available online.

The first thing you'll need is a valid piece of ID.

Nor can you take a photo of your ballot and share it, because the vote is considered to be secret.
