Rams star RB Todd Gurley misses practice to injury

Todd Gurley Injury Status Updated Ahead Of Rams Vs. 49ers Game

After suffering an injury at the tail end of last season, Gurley experienced some troubles during the playoffs and wasn't being used as often or as effectively.

Judging by the Los Angeles Rams injury report, it appears Todd Gurley is unlikely to play in Sunday's clash against the San Francisco 49ers.

Behind Gurley on the depth chart, rookie Darrell Henderson has attempted just one rush. The running back is averaging career-lows in carries per game (12.8), rush yards per game (54), touches per game (15.6), and scrimmage yards per game (67.6).

The Rams haven't lost three games in a row under McVay since he was hired before the 2017 season.

It was reported this offseason that Gurley has an "arthritic component" to his left knee, in which he suffered a torn ACL in college.

There are no guarantees being made as to whether or not he will play this weekend but if the Rams want to win, they'll want Gurley present.

This comes with Los Angeles set to take on a 49ers defense that ranks fifth against the run and boasts the No. 2 overall unit in the NFL.

So it's no surprise Shanahan and Co. need to be concerned about a number of Rams players on Sunday.
